About DROPS

DROPS, the Dropped Objects Prevention Scheme, is an oil and gas industry initiative dedicated to preventing dropped-object incidents. The subject is narrow but the audience is not: a falling tool or fitting is a hazard for everyone working beneath a derrick, a crane or elevated equipment, not only for the person who let it go.

Sadara delivers two DROPS programmes in Algeria. 'Dropped Object Prevention Awareness' covers the essentials for the workforce at large. 'Dropped Object Prevention Train the Trainer' is for supervisors and HSE staff who will go on to deliver dropped-object prevention training themselves.

Both are available at Sadara's own training centre, on site at a client's rig, plant or yard, or live online, and either can be folded into a custom programme where a site has its own particular set of dropped-object risks.
